Show it! Group presentation - Materials - Year 1

In Year 1, students are encouraged to explore and identify various materials present in their everyday environment. The lesson culminates with a 'Show it!' group presentation where the children have the chance to share what they've learned about materials with their classmates. This presentation can be facilitated in several ways, including the use of a staff-created PowerPoint that showcases the ongoing learning through photographs of different materials being used in daily life.

Diverse photographs depicting everyday materials provide a visual aid for the children to discuss during the presentation. Each child is given the opportunity to speak about a slide, enhancing their understanding and communication skills. For example, a child might say, "Good Morning, I would like to tell you about the photograph showing…" followed by their description of the material in the image.
