Show it! Group presentation - Materials - Year 2

In a Year 2 classroom, students are encouraged to explore and understand the different materials that surround us and how we can utilise them effectively. As part of their learning journey, children are given the chance to showcase their newfound knowledge through a group presentation. This activity not only reinforces their understanding but also helps develop their communication and teamwork skills. Towards the end of the learning period, each group, consisting of no more than six members, is tasked with creating and delivering a presentation on a specific material such as wood, plastic, glass, stretching materials, or twisting materials.

The presentations can be conducted in various engaging formats, and sometimes, the teaching staff may assist by compiling a PowerPoint presentation that captures the ongoing learning for the class to view. This interactive approach to learning allows children to take ownership of their education by actively participating in the teaching process. As the children stand before their peers and begin with a cheerful "Good Morning, I would like to tell you about…", they embark on a journey of sharing valuable insights into the properties and uses of everyday materials, fostering a collaborative and supportive classroom environment.
