Cops and robbers - What do you know about energy?

The "Cops and Robbers" activity is an engaging and interactive method used to recall and share knowledge about energy among pupils. Initially, students are given a brief time limit of two minutes to jot down everything they can remember about the digestive system, which serves as a warm-up exercise. Following this, the game takes an exciting turn as they are given 60 seconds to 'steal' information from their peers. During this time, they can visit up to three other students to view the answers written down and 'rob' any ideas they find useful, adding these to the 'Stolen knowledge' section on the right side of their table.

The activity is structured to encourage quick thinking and collaboration, as well as to assess the students' understanding of energy. For each plausible statement about energy that the pupils manage to record, they are awarded two points, incentivising them to recall and exchange accurate information. The entire activity is designed to last 15 minutes, allowing ample time for both recalling their own knowledge and learning from others. This dynamic approach not only reinforces individual learning but also promotes peer-to-peer education, making the process of learning about energy both fun and effective.
