Grammar Quiz 1

The Y6 Grammar Quiz 1 is a concise, ten-slide activity designed to quickly assess and refresh students' knowledge of grammar concepts. This quiz, created by KS2Gems in 2020, is intended to be a revision tool for grammar topics that have been previously taught. It is structured to be a short exercise that can be conveniently slotted at the beginning or end of a lesson, taking no more than 10 minutes to complete. The aim is to provide teachers with a quick and effective way to gauge students' understanding of various grammatical terms.

During the quiz, students are prompted to write answers on their whiteboards for a series of grammar-related requests. These include writing three proper nouns, three pronouns, and two questions, which test their ability to recognise and use different parts of speech. Additionally, they are asked to write three prepositions, three adverbs of time, and two statements to demonstrate their grasp of word functions within sentences. Further challenges include identifying three adverbs of manner, three abstract nouns, three interjections, and three determiners. Each of these tasks is designed to reinforce students' grammatical skills in a practical and engaging manner.
