Show it! Group presentation - Stone Age - Year 3

In a dynamic and interactive Year 3 classroom activity, students are encouraged to delve into Britain's prehistoric past by exploring the transformative period from the Stone Age through to the end of the Iron Age. As part of their learning journey, children are given the opportunity to showcase their understanding of this significant era by presenting their findings to their classmates. This 'Show It!' segment of the curriculum is designed to not only consolidate the students' knowledge but also to develop their presentation skills and confidence in sharing information.

For the presentation, children are organised into small groups, with no more than six members in each, to foster teamwork and collaborative learning. Each group is tasked with creating a presentation on one of several key topics, such as the Neolithic settlement of Skara Brae, the extraction and use of iron ore, the lifestyle of hunter-gatherers, the strategic Iron Age hill forts, the groundbreaking invention of the wheel, or the enigmatic structure of Stonehenge. By researching and presenting these topics, students will be able to articulate and visualise the profound changes that occurred in Britain from the dawn of the Stone Age to the culmination of the Iron Age.
