Cops and robbers - What do you know about a force and its impact upon the way things move? - worksheet
Science Resource Description
The "Cops and Robbers" worksheet is an interactive and educational activity aimed at helping pupils recall and share their knowledge about forces and their effects on movement. Initially, students are given two minutes to jot down everything they can remember about forces under the 'Own recalled knowledge' column. This segment of the task encourages them to dig into their memories and articulate their understanding of forces independently.
Following this, the activity becomes more dynamic as pupils are given 60 seconds to 'steal' ideas from their peers. They are allowed to view and borrow information from up to three other children's answers, which they then add to the 'Stolen knowledge' column on the right side of their table. This exercise not only promotes learning from one another but also adds a fun, competitive edge with pupils earning two points for each plausible statement they gather. In total, the activity is designed to last 15 minutes, providing a fast-paced and engaging way to consolidate their understanding of forces and how they influence the movement of objects.
