The Human Life Cycle - Results Tables
Science Resource Description
The human life cycle involves various changes, and two significant aspects of this are changes in eyesight and bone structure with age. To understand the progression of eyesight changes, a results table is used to record the visual acuity at different distances—1, 3, 5, and 7 meters—for both eyes together, as well as for the left and right eyes independently. This table helps to illustrate how the ability to see clearly at various distances may alter as one ages, potentially highlighting the differences in vision between the two eyes as well as the overall decline in eyesight.
Similarly, another results table is dedicated to examining how bones change with age. This table notes the number of holes present in bones, which can be indicative of bone density, alongside the mass at which the bones collapse, measured in grams. The number of holes is recorded at intervals of 0, 4, 8, 16, and 32, providing a clear indication of the bone's structural integrity. This data is crucial for understanding the impact of aging on bone strength and density, factors that are vital for maintaining overall skeletal health.
