Local archaeologists - Challenge

Embark on an exciting challenge to explore the passage of time through the lens of your local area. Working in teams of six, you'll need a camera at the ready to capture the essence of history and modernity that surrounds you. Your mission is to seek out and photograph examples of architecture, residential structures, street furniture, and various artefacts. The goal is to distinguish between those that have stood for over a century – a testament to the past – and those that have emerged in the last decade, showcasing recent developments. With each photograph you take, you must provide evidence to support the age of the item, categorising them into two distinct groups: those with a history spanning more than 100 years and those with a presence of less than 10 years.

This challenge not only connects you with the tangible history of your community but also prompts reflection on the advancements of ancient civilisations, such as that of Ancient Egypt.
