Show it! Group presentation - Egyptians - Year 4

In Year 4, students are encouraged to explore the remarkable advancements of the Ancient Egyptian civilisation and to share their findings through a group presentation. This activity not only reinforces their understanding of the topic but also develops their public speaking and collaboration skills. Towards the end of their learning journey, children are given the chance to showcase their knowledge to their peers in a creative and informative manner. The presentations can be delivered in various formats, including the use of a staff-created PowerPoint that summarises the ongoing learning and serves as a visual aid during the presentation.

Working in small groups of up to six, the children can delve into specific aspects of Ancient Egyptian life and achievements. They might choose topics such as the role of archaeologists in uncovering Egyptian history, the architectural marvels of the pyramids, the pantheon of Egyptian gods, the significance of pharaohs, the intricate system of hieroglyphics, or the mysteries of the Valley of the Kings. Each group's presentation will answer the pivotal question: "Why was the Ancient Egyptian civilisation ahead of its time?" By engaging in this exercise, students not only learn about an ancient culture but also improve their ability to convey information and insights in a compelling and structured manner.
