Cops and robbers - What goes on at an airport?
Geography Resource Description
The 'Cops and Robbers' activity is an engaging and collaborative exercise designed for groups of four pupils to enhance their recall and sharing of knowledge. Each pupil begins by spending two minutes to note down everything they can remember about a given topic—in this case, what goes on at an airport—on the left side of a table. After this, they have one minute per person to review the entries made by the other three members of their group. During this time, they are on the lookout for any information that they haven't already noted down themselves.
Following the review of their peers' knowledge, pupils have the opportunity to 'steal' this new information by adding it to the 'stolen knowledge' section of their table. This process of sharing and learning from one another is both competitive and educational, as each piece of information recorded is worth two points. The entire activity is designed to take approximately 15 minutes, encouraging quick thinking and attentiveness. This interactive method not only reinforces individual learning but also fosters a spirit of teamwork and collective knowledge building within the classroom.
