Spring Term Spelling Progress Test 1

The KS2Gems 2022 Spring Term Spelling Progress Test 1 is a carefully structured assessment designed for Year 3 students to evaluate their spelling proficiency. The test comprises ten sentences, each with a missing word that the students are required to listen to and then write correctly. The teacher administering the test will read out each sentence, ensuring to repeat the sentence along with the missing word, giving students a clear opportunity to grasp and spell the word accurately. The instructions are straightforward, emphasising the importance of attentive listening and the confidentiality of individual work.

Students' spelling abilities are tested through a variety of words that are likely to be part of their curriculum-based learning. The test includes words that may describe objects, actions, or events, such as those related to vehicles, social gatherings, classroom instructions, writing tools, leisure activities, seasonal changes, personal belongings, appointments, memories, and dramatic incidents.
