Cops and Robbers - What do you know about the human life cycle? - Changes as you grow - Year 5

The 'Cops and Robbers' activity is an engaging classroom exercise designed for Year 5 pupils to recall and share their knowledge about the human life cycle. Initially, students are given two minutes to independently write down everything they remember about the topic. This phase encourages them to draw upon their own understanding and memory, jotting down key points related to the stages of human development and growth. This could include anything from birth, infancy, and childhood, to adolescence, adulthood, and old age.

Following this, the 'robbers' part of the game comes into play where pupils have 60 seconds to 'steal' ideas from their peers. They are allowed to view the work of up to three classmates to gather additional information that they may have missed or forgotten. Any new information they acquire is then added to the 'Stolen knowledge' section of their table. Each plausible statement they write down earns them two points, turning this into a competitive and fun learning activity. The entire exercise is allocated 15 minutes, blending recall with peer learning to reinforce their understanding of the human life cycle as well as the life cycles of various animals.
