Medium Term Plan - Trampolining - Year 11
Physical Education Resource Description
The Year 11 Trampolining Medium Term Plan, which spans six lessons, is designed for Key Stage 4 students and aims to develop their trampolining skills and overall physical fitness. The intent of the program is to enhance students' ability to accurately replicate core movements, both individually and in sequence, with an emphasis on creativity, control, fluency, and aesthetics. Students are encouraged to evaluate their performances and provide feedback, preparing them for tournaments where they will officiate and compete. Additionally, the plan focuses on fostering an understanding of healthy lifestyles and testing physical capacity.
Throughout the course, students will learn and refine various trampolining skills such as tucks, pikes, straddles, twisting movements, and various types of drops and landings. Sequencing of movements will become progressively complex, allowing students to make decisions, assess outcomes, and suggest improvements. The plan also includes key concepts such as accurate replication of advanced moves and developing physical and mental capacity. Students will be encouraged to solve problems, set challenges, and make decisions in composing routines. Personal development is also a crucial aspect, with discussions on the importance of regular exercise, fitness components, and enrichment opportunities. The program aims to improve analytical skills and develop leadership through self and peer assessment, with the use of ICT to enhance performance evaluation. The course also highlights potential careers in the sports industry, providing students with a broader perspective on the opportunities available to them.
