Spiders web - Outdoor and Adventurous Activities
Physical Education Resource Description
The "Spiders Web" activity is an outdoor and adventurous challenge that encourages teamwork, communication, and planning. The objective is to accumulate as many points as possible by successfully navigating through the web's holes without touching the ropes. Points are awarded based on the number of attempts taken to get through to the other side, with the first attempt scoring the highest at 5 points. Scores are doubled for a flawless pass, but a penalty of one point is deducted for each rope touch. Before starting, teams can earn additional points for strategizing their approach, effectively communicating during the task, and displaying cooperative skills. The ultimate goal is for the entire class to pass through the web within a set time limit, potentially setting a new school record.
In the "Hoop Race" activity, the class is divided into two equal teams, each with a hoop. Participants form a circle and pass the hoop around without letting go of each other's hands, requiring coordination and collaboration. The challenge can be adjusted in difficulty; for an easier version, pupils are allowed to use their hands, while for a more difficult one, the hoop must not touch the ground, and the direction of passing can be reversed. This activity not only promotes teamwork but also physical agility as team members step in and out and maneuver the hoop over their heads in a race against the other team.
