Converting units of mass Target Board

The KS2Gems2022 Target Board activity is an engaging educational resource designed to help Year 5 students practice and enhance their skills in converting different measurements of mass. Target Boards are versatile tools that can be used to kick off or wrap up a maths lesson, providing an excellent opportunity for retrieval practice. They are suitable for use with the entire class or smaller groups, and the setup is simple: display the target board where all students can see it, hand out whiteboards and pens, and the exercise is ready to begin.

During the activity, students are tasked with various challenges involving the numbers displayed on the board. For instance, a teacher might instruct pupils to convert measurements from the top row into kilograms or to identify all the measurements that fall within a specific range, such as between 1 and 2.5 kilograms.
