Show it! Group presentation - Lake District - Year 3
Geography Resource Description
The Lake District is celebrated as one of the UK's most distinctive and captivating locations, and Year 3 students are given the chance to explore this enchanting region through a 'Show it!' group presentation. Towards the end of their learning journey, children are encouraged to share their newfound knowledge with their classmates. This sharing of information can take various forms, and sometimes it involves a PowerPoint created by the staff that encapsulates the ongoing learning about the Lake District.
Working in small groups, with no more than six in each, children can select from a range of topics that highlight the uniqueness of the Lake District. They might choose to present on Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England, or the expansive and beautiful Lake Windermere. Other groups could delve into the natural processes that lead to the formation of lakes or investigate the impact of tourism in the Lake District. Each presentation aims to answer the question of why the Lake District stands out as a special place within the UK. This not only fosters a collaborative learning environment but also allows students to engage deeply with the subject, developing their presentation skills and confidence in the process.
