Assessment for learning - worksheet

Year 6 pupils are invited to participate in a series of insightful individual tasks that delve into the various aspects of global warming and climate change. The first worksheet is designed to encourage pupils to list the impacts of global warming. They are instructed to use keywords or short phrases, rather than full sentences, to articulate the consequences of this environmental issue. Each correct entry earns them two points, and they are given a quarter of an hour to brainstorm and record as many impacts as possible. The focus is on content rather than spelling accuracy.

Subsequent worksheets follow a similar format, asking pupils to explore the relationship between industry and global warming, identify different greenhouse gases, and provide reasons why climate change is occurring. Each task is an opportunity for pupils to earn points for correct entries, with a time limit of 15 minutes to encourage quick thinking and focus. Additionally, pupils are prompted to consider the significance of industrial areas and ports, and to come up with three reasons why each is crucial to our daily lives and the global economy.
