Home learning activities have been crafted to help children master the spelling of words with the 'ai' sound. The differentiated spelling lists include a variety of words such as 'rain', 'chains', 'aim', and 'mermaid', each incorporating the 'ai' sound. To further challenge students, there's a challenge word: 'explained'. Blank boxes are provided for the addition of any extra words that educators may want to include for extended learning. This approach ensures that each child can work at a level that suits their ability while still being pushed to learn more.

The 'Look, Say, Cover, Write and Check!' method is employed to reinforce the spelling of these words. It involves looking at the word, saying it aloud, covering it, attempting to write it from memory, and then checking to see if it was written correctly. Additionally, the 'Read and Match' activity encourages children to associate the 'ai' sound with different words, and they are prompted to use one of these words in a sentence of their own creation.
