Animals - Farm Animals

Farm animals are an integral part of the agricultural landscape, providing a variety of resources such as meat, milk, eggs, and labour. Among these animals, the pig is known for its intelligence and is a valuable source of pork. Turkeys are large birds, often associated with festive meals, while sheep are commonly reared for their wool, meat, and milk. The rooster, with its early morning crowing, plays a crucial role in managing the hen flock and is a symbol of the farmyard. Cows are perhaps one of the most significant farm animals, producing milk that's essential for dairy products, and hens are prized for their ability to lay eggs.

Other farmyard inhabitants include ducks, known for their waterproof feathers and distinctive quacking. Chicks, the young of hens, are often seen pecking around for food under the watchful eyes of their mothers. Goats are versatile animals, kept for their milk, meat, and sometimes for their fibre. Horses, with their impressive strength and speed, have been used for transportation, work, and companionship. Geese are another type of poultry that can be found on the farm, valued for their meat and down feathers. Lastly, donkeys are known for their endurance and are often used as working animals, particularly in carrying loads and pulling carts.
