Viking children's board game - Challenge

Embark on a historical adventure with the Viking children's board game challenge, where you and a partner are tasked with creating an engaging board game inspired by the rich Norse culture. Drawing upon your knowledge of the Norse pantheon, Viking weaponry, and their iconic longships, you're to invent a game that could have been played by the young Vikings themselves. You have the creative freedom to base your game on classic board games like Snakes and Ladders, Ludo, or Bingo, but with a twist that transports players back to the Viking Age. Authenticity is key, so your game must accurately reflect the period, and you'll need to craft a clear set of instructions on how to play it. Once your game is ready, it will be put to the test by three other pairs, and in turn, you'll evaluate three other pairs' games, ensuring a collaborative and interactive learning experience.

As part of the challenge, you'll delve into the transformative history of Britain from the end of Roman rule to the year 1066, exploring the impact of the Viking era on the British Isles. You'll investigate who the Vikings were and uncover the reasons behind their formidable reputation as fierce raiders. The assessment of your game by peers, and your assessment of theirs, will be guided by a proforma provided to ensure a structured and fair review process.
