Cops and robbers - What are the main features of Brazil?

The "Cops and Robbers" activity is an engaging classroom exercise designed to enhance pupils' recall and collaborative learning skills. In this activity, pupils are arranged into groups of four and tasked with recalling and sharing knowledge about a specific topic—in this case, the main features of Brazil. Each pupil initially has two minutes to jot down what they remember individually, using the left side of a table provided. Following this individual recall phase, pupils rotate their papers, allowing each group member 60 seconds to review the others' contributions.

During the review, pupils are on the lookout for information they haven't recorded themselves, akin to 'stealing' knowledge from their peers. After reviewing each other's work, they have the opportunity to add any new information they have gathered to a 'stolen knowledge' section on their own table. This process not only encourages pupils to learn from one another but also adds a competitive edge to the learning process, as each new piece of information recorded is worth two points. The entire activity is designed to be completed in approximately 15 minutes, making it a quick and effective tool for collaborative learning and knowledge reinforcement in the classroom.
