Show it! Group presentation - Rivers - Year 3

As part of their learning journey on rivers, Year 3 children are provided with an engaging opportunity to showcase their understanding through group presentations. This exercise, which occurs towards the end of their learning module, allows the students to communicate the knowledge they have acquired to their classmates. Presentations can be conducted in various formats, and sometimes, the teaching staff might facilitate the process by preparing a PowerPoint presentation that encapsulates the ongoing learning for the class to share.

Children are encouraged to form small groups, with a maximum of six members, to collaborate on their presentations. Each group has the option to select from a range of river-related topics such as waterfalls, oxbow lakes, the upper course of a river, the water cycle, the transformation of London’s docklands, or exploring the rivers of the world. These presentations are not just a way for students to demonstrate their learning but also a chance for them to engage with the material creatively and develop their public speaking skills. The "Show It!" initiative culminates with students confidently stepping forward to begin their presentation with a greeting, such as "Good Morning," followed by an introduction to the topic they are about to delve into.
