Medium Term Plan - Tag Rugby - Year 7

The medium-term plan for Year 7 Tag Rugby at Key Stage 3 spans six lessons, with the aim of developing fundamental skills for small-sided games. The curriculum is designed to enhance students' understanding and execution of basic principles in attack and defence, as well as to encourage the exploration of simple tactics and strategies to outmanoeuvre opponents. The plan is tailored to foster physical literacy and body movement competence. Students will gain knowledge in various aspects of tag rugby, such as the principles of attack and defence, utilising space effectively, and applying modified game rules. Skill development is a key focus, with passing, receiving, ball handling, dodging, evading, delaying, and tagging all being core components of the curriculum.
