Max Maths, Year 5, Try it, Angles review
Maths Resource Description
In the "Try It" section of Max Maths for Year 5, students are invited to review their knowledge of angles through a series of engaging exercises. The first task requires pupils to write down the names of different angles, with the initial example being completed as a guide. This activity helps students to familiarise themselves with the terminology associated with various types of angles. The angles are presented in pairs, labelled (a) to (d), and students must identify each one by its correct mathematical name.
The second exercise delves deeper into angle classification. Students are presented with a series of angles and asked to determine the type of each one—whether it is acute, right, obtuse, or reflex. The angles are again grouped and labelled from (a) to (d), and students must examine the magnitude of each angle to categorise it accurately. This task not only reinforces their understanding of angle types but also encourages critical thinking as they assess each angle visually. To support their learning and provide additional practice, students are directed to workbook pages 44 to 48, where they can find further exercises and explanations to enhance their grasp of angles.
