10 Times Tables - Connect It

"Connect It" is an engaging and educational game designed to help children practice and reinforce their understanding of the 10 times table. The game requires a few simple materials: a set of counters, a "Multiples of 10" board filled with multiples of 10 ranging from 0 to 120, and a deck of cards numbered 0 to 12. To begin, players shuffle the cards and place them face down. They then take turns drawing a card, multiplying the number on the card by ten, and covering the corresponding multiple on the board with a counter.

For example, if a player draws the card with the number 4, they would cover the number 40 on the board, as 4 times 10 equals 40. If all instances of a player's number have already been covered on the board, that player discards the card and draws again. The aim of the game is to be the first to cover four numbers in a straight line, which can be horizontal, vertical, or diagonal. For a longer game, players can aim to cover five numbers in a line. This game not only makes learning multiplication fun but also encourages strategic thinking as players work to block their opponents and achieve a line of covered numbers.
