5 Times Tables - Go Solo
Maths Resource Description
Go Solo is an engaging and colourful activity designed to help learners master their 5 times tables. To participate, children will need coloured pencils and a copy of the 'Products of 5 Board'. The aim of the game is to identify pairs of numbers where one number is the product of the other when multiplied by 5. For example, the pair 6 and 30 can be coloured blue because 6 multiplied by 5 equals 30. Children are encouraged to find and colour as many matching pairs of the same two numbers as possible.
Once a pair is coloured, the students select a new colour and search for a different set of pairs to colour. This process continues until all numbers on the board have been successfully paired, with each pair consisting of a factor (the number being multiplied by 5) and a product (the result of the multiplication). The repetitive nature of the game, combined with the visual reinforcement of colouring matching pairs, aids in reinforcing the multiplication facts of the number 5. This interactive method not only enhances learning but also makes practising multiplication tables a more enjoyable experience for children.
