Fraction Target

Fraction Target is an engaging game designed to help players learn and practice comparing fractions. The game requires a simple set of 0-9 dice and can be played with multiple participants. The objective of the game is to accurately predict whether the fraction created by the dice roll will be greater or less than a pre-agreed target fraction, such as 1/2, to score points.

The gameplay is straightforward. Players take turns to roll the dice to generate two digits. They then form a fraction by using the larger digit as the denominator and the smaller digit as the numerator. For example, if a player rolls a 5 and a 4, they would create the fraction 4/5. Before rolling, players must predict if their fraction will be 'more' or 'less' than the target fraction. A correct prediction earns the player a point. The game continues for five rounds, and the player with the most points at the end of these rounds is declared the winner. Players are encouraged to think strategically and may find it useful to write down sets of equivalent fractions to the target to assist with their comparisons.
