Target Add or Take

Target Add or Take is an engaging mathematical game designed to enhance addition and subtraction skills. This interactive game requires players to use strategic thinking and arithmetic to get as close as possible to a target two-digit number. To participate in this game, you will need a dice that is numbered from 0 to 9.

The gameplay is simple yet challenging. Players take turns to roll the dice to determine a two-digit target number. After establishing the target, each player rolls the dice three more times to obtain three additional digits. With these numbers, the player must form a two-digit number and a single-digit number. The next step is to decide whether to add the single-digit number to or subtract it from the two-digit number, aiming to reach or get as close to the target number as possible. For example, if the target is 56 and the dice rolls are 4, 7, and 2, a player could create the number 47 and then add 2, trying to minimize the difference from the target. The score is calculated by the difference between the target number and the player's result. The player with the lowest total score after five rounds wins the game. It's worth noting that addition offers more flexibility in achieving the same result, such as 47 + 2 or 42 + 7, unlike subtraction which does not have this property.
