Make 10 - Number Facts

Maths Resource Description
The game "Make 10" is an engaging and educational activity designed to help players, particularly children, learn and reinforce number facts that add up to ten. To play this game, participants will need a 0 to 9 dice, a digit board filled with numbers, and a set of counters. The essence of the game is simple: players take turns to roll the dice and then place a counter on the digit board over the number that, when added to the dice roll, equals ten. For instance, if a player rolls a 6, they would cover the number 4 on the board.
Winning the game requires a bit of strategy and luck. The first player to align four of their counters in a row, either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, wins the game. To enhance their skills and speed up their mental calculations, players are encouraged to use their fingers to count and to try to memorize the number pairs that make ten as the game progresses. Starting with easy pairs like 5 + 5 can be very helpful. This game not only makes learning fun but also helps to develop quick mental arithmetic and strategy skills.
