Layers of the rainforest - Research task

In this research task, students are encouraged to collaborate in teams of four to explore the intricate structure of rainforests by investigating its various layers. Each member of the team is assigned one layer to research in depth. The primary goal is to foster teamwork, ensuring that all members contribute equally and support each other, especially if someone encounters difficulties. The collective objective is to produce a comprehensive and clear explanation of the different categories that make up the rainforest ecosystem.

The task also prompts students to delve into the factors that give rise to rainforests and to understand why they are located in specific regions of the world. Additionally, students are tasked with identifying and describing the key characteristics that are typical of rainforest environments. While a guide sheet is provided to assist in structuring their findings, creativity is encouraged, and students are welcome to present their information in any engaging format they devise. This approach allows for a dynamic learning experience that not only educates but also inspires students to think innovatively about presenting their research.
