Designed to teach children the fundamental principles of phonics and reading, the Learn To Read With Phonics Reading Packs offer a comprehensive six-month programme suitable for a wide age range, starting from 4 years old. These packs are particularly beneficial for older children who may be reluctant readers, those with learning difficulties, and learners for whom English is not their first language. The structured course is tailored for one-to-one or small group sessions, involving either a teacher and student or a parent/guardian and child working collaboratively.

The programme incorporates 44 phonic sounds within engaging texts, featuring the character Sam and his adventures. As children progress through the stories, they are encouraged to search for hidden sounds, gradually building up their ability to recognise and pronounce these sounds. This method enables them to decode 80% of words in the English language by breaking them down into individual sounds or syllables. The reading packs not only teach simple sounds but also tackle more complex phonetic patterns and are filled with activities that reinforce learning, such as matching words and phrases to pictures. Upon completion, children will be well-prepared to transition to independent reading of more challenging books.
