Seasons Review - Self Assessment
Science Resource Description
In this self-assessment exercise, students are prompted to evaluate their understanding of the four seasons and their ability to sequence them correctly. The assessment asks if they can not only name each season but also place them in the right order, reflecting on the cyclical nature of the seasons. Additionally, students are encouraged to think about and articulate the various events and changes that characterise each season, demonstrating a deeper comprehension beyond mere recognition.
The self-assessment continues by probing students' ability to connect specific months to their corresponding seasons, which is an essential skill for grasping the concept of seasonality. The exercise is designed to encourage reflection and provide an opportunity for the teacher to offer feedback on the students' knowledge of the seasons, their sequence, the distinctive features of each, and the relationship between the calendar months and the seasons. This structured self-assessment is a tool for both students and teachers to identify areas of strength and those that may require further attention or review.
