Autumn Term Grammar and Punctuation Progress Test 2
English Resource Description
The KS2Gems2022 Year 4 Autumn Term Grammar and Punctuation Progress Test 2 is a timed assessment, with a 15-minute limit, designed to evaluate students' understanding of fronted adverbials and correct punctuation usage. Students are presented with a variety of questions that require different types of responses, such as ticking boxes for multiple-choice queries, circling words within sentences, and writing short answers. Each question is allocated a certain number of marks, indicating the maximum score that can be achieved for that particular question.
The test includes tasks where pupils must identify fronted adverbials in sentences, choose sentences with the correct punctuation, and rewrite sentences to include a fronted adverbial. For example, students may be asked to tick the sentence that correctly uses a comma after an introductory phrase or to underline the fronted adverbial in a given sentence. The assessment is structured to encourage students to work efficiently and accurately, and they are advised to review their answers if they have extra time after completing the test. The aim is to ensure that students have a solid grasp of the key grammar and punctuation concepts that have been taught during the term.
