The Hodgeheg - Session 4 - Reading Comprehension
English Resource Description
In the fourth session of "The Hodgeheg" reading comprehension, students delve into the aftermath of Max's return and the hedgehog family's dynamics. The session features questions that explore how Max's family celebrates his safe return, the discomfort Ma and Pa feel about the hedgehog at 5B's visits, and Uncle B's reasons for inviting Posy, Peony, and Petunia to play in 5B's garden. Students also consider why Max visits Uncle B, the identity of the 'small humans', Max's feelings about a lady in a white coat, Pa's objections to a certain plan, and the lollipop lady's reaction to seeing seven hedgehogs.
Additionally, one of the tasks requires students to summarise the key events of the session in no more than 50 words, challenging them to condense the narrative while capturing the essence of the plot. Through these questions, the comprehension session aims to enhance the pupils' understanding of the story's characters and plot developments, while also improving their ability to infer and summarise information from the text.
