Identifying Plants - Results Tables

The investigation into the properties of pinecones is meticulously documented using a series of results tables. Each table is structured to capture a range of data points over a set period, from the initial measurement to an overnight observation. The tables are designed to record the changes in length and width of the pinecones, measured in millimetres, at various intervals: at the outset (0 minutes), then at 15, 30, 45, 60, 75 minutes, and finally after leaving the pinecones overnight. An important aspect of the investigation is to ascertain whether the pinecones float, with a simple 'Yes' or 'No' recorded in the corresponding column.

Additionally, the tables provide a section for noting the colour of the pinecones, which could offer insights into any changes that occur during the observation period. To complement the quantitative data, there is a column allocated for drawings. This visual element serves as a qualitative record, allowing for a graphical representation of the pinecones at each time point. Through these tables, a comprehensive picture of the pinecones' physical characteristics and buoyancy over time can be captured, making it a valuable tool for analysing and understanding the behaviour of pinecones in different conditions.
