Comparing numbers to 10,000,000 Quiz
Maths Resource Description
A Year 6 place value quiz challenges students to demonstrate their understanding of ordering and comparing numbers up to at least 10,000,000. The quiz comprises ten questions that require pupils to engage with a variety of tasks. For instance, the first question asks them to identify a number that falls between 1,546,393 and 1,546,403. Subsequent questions invite students to write an eight-digit number larger than 9,999,995, a seven-digit number smaller than 10,005,999, and to arrange a set of numbers in ascending or descending order.
Further into the quiz, students are tasked with identifying odd and even numbers within specified ranges, such as finding two odd numbers between 7,380,899 and 7,380,999, or three even numbers between 1,006,997 and 1,007,006. Additionally, they are asked to select the largest number from a given set, such as choosing between 7,202,002, 7,202,220, 7,022,000, and 7,222,002, and to identify the smallest number from another set, which includes numbers like 1,118,889 and 1,181,989. The final question requires students to write four numbers that fall between 1,299,999 and 1,300,005. This quiz not only tests the pupils' ability to work with large numbers but also their understanding of number sequences and place value.
