Four in Four - Multiplication Set D 2 digit number x 5
Maths Resource Description
The "Four in Four" multiplication exercise is a timed challenge created by KS2Gems in 2021, aimed at Year 3 students to sharpen their multiplication skills. The task requires pupils to complete a set of four multiplication problems within a four-minute time frame. Each worksheet in Set D presents a different collection of calculations, all involving the multiplication of two-digit numbers by 5. The worksheets are designed to test and improve the speed and accuracy of students' basic arithmetic skills, particularly focusing on the 5 times table applied to larger numbers.
For each worksheet, students are presented with four multiplication problems, such as "21 x 5" or "32 x 5", which they are to solve within the allotted time. The answers are provided separately, allowing for quick and easy checking of the completed work. For example, the answers for Sheet 1 include "12 x 5 = 60" and "14 x 5 = 70". This exercise not only reinforces multiplication concepts but also encourages the development of mental maths and time management skills. The series includes a total of 10 sheets, each with a unique set of problems, offering ample practice for young learners to master multiplying by the number five.
