Max Maths, Year 3, Practice, Months of the year
Maths Resource Description
In the Max Maths Year 3 practice section on the months of the year, students are tasked with learning about the number of days in each month. They are given a list of months, including September, January, April, October, December, May, February, August, November, March, June, and July, and are required to write down the specific number of days for each. This exercise is designed to help them memorise the varying lengths of months in the Gregorian calendar, which is an essential part of their curriculum.
The practice section also includes fill-in-the-blank sentences to further reinforce their understanding. Students are prompted to complete sentences about the unique month of February, which typically has 28 days but extends to 29 days every four years in what is known as a leap year. They also learn about the total number of days in a leap year. Additionally, the exercise provides a real-world application by asking students to identify the next leap year following 2036. To supplement their learning, students are directed to workbook pages 202 to 204, where they can find more exercises and information to aid their understanding of the calendar year.
