Know it! - Victorians - Year 2

In an educational activity designed for Year 2 pupils, children are encouraged to explore the lasting impact of the Victorian era on modern life. The activity, titled 'How did the Victorians influence our life today?', is a part of a larger unit of learning that involves retrieval tasks, allowing children to revisit the knowledge they have acquired even after the unit has concluded. Points are awarded for correct answers, with a set time limit to complete each task, emphasising both recall and understanding.

The tasks vary in nature, including naming artefacts, listing facts about childhood during the Victorian times compared to the childhood of their grandparents and parents, and identifying toys that they currently play with that were not available to Victorian children. Another interactive activity, 'Cops and robbers', involves group work where pupils share their knowledge about the Victorians, learning from each other's recall.
