Brightstorm - Session 14 - Reading Comprehension

In a reading comprehension session focusing on Chapter 18 of "Brightstorm," students are prompted with a series of questions designed to test their understanding of key events and details within the text. The first question asks about the fate of the Fire-Bird, while the second inquires which skyships remain in the thrilling Polaris Challenge. To gauge the students' grasp of descriptive language and scale, the third question explores how the reader is helped to comprehend the enormity of the icebergs encountered on the twelfth day.

The worksheet continues to probe the students' comprehension with a question about the nature of the Great Glacies, followed by an inquiry into the protagonist Arthur's emotions as they journey towards the Third Continent. Students must also deduce why Arthur is certain that a silver insect he observes is not merely a reflection.
