5 Times Tables - Remainders

Get ready for an exciting maths game that combines the challenge of the 5 times tables with the fun of a board game, all while learning about remainders. Each player will need a counter and a 1 to 6 dice to play "Remainders Board – 5s". The objective is to roll the dice, move your counter up the board and divide the number you land on by five. To make it easier, try to split the number into 'ten lots and the rest'. For instance, if you land on the number 67, you would calculate 67 divided by 5. Break it down by first taking away 50 (which is 10 multiplied by 5) leaving you with 17. Then, take away another 15 (3 multiplied by 5), which leaves you with a remainder of 2. The remainder is your score for that turn.

The game board is peppered with numbers ranging from 61 to 98, and the aim is to finish with the highest score possible. The player with the highest score when the first player crosses the finish line is declared the winner. For example, if you're the first to reach the finish but with a lower remainder score than your opponent, they will take the victory.
