Max Maths, Year 3, Try it, 3D shapes

In the 'Let's Try It' section of the Max Maths Year 3 book, students are encouraged to engage with 3D shapes by writing down the names of four different shapes that are presented visually. This activity is designed to help children familiarise themselves with the common 3D shapes they encounter in their studies and everyday life. The exercise does not provide the images, but it is implied that the shapes (a) to (d) are examples of 3D figures that the students should be able to identify by name.

The 'Let's Practise' section takes the learning a step further by asking students to complete a table with information about various 3D shapes. The table requires students to note down the number of curved faces, as well as the count of triangular and rectangular faces for each shape listed, which includes a sphere, cube, cuboid, cylinder, cone, pyramid, triangular prism, and hexagonal prism. This exercise is essential for enhancing the students' understanding of the properties of 3D shapes.
