Number 19- CanDo Bonds

Number 19- CanDo Bonds is an engaging educational activity designed to help children understand and practise number bonds that add up to 19. The activity is divided into several parts, each with a unique approach to reinforce the concept. In the 'Create it' section, children complete a series of dominoes ensuring that the sum of the numbers on each domino equals 19, and they are encouraged to jot down the dots or write the numbers to visualise the total. They also write down the number sentences for each domino, reinforcing the arithmetic operation of addition.

The 'Colour it' section involves a creative task where children add the two numbers on Coco's wings and colour her beak if the total sums up to 19, combining math with art. In 'Join it', students colour boxes on a grid to create a path across it, only colouring the boxes that total 19, which helps them to visualise and remember the number bonds. The 'Jot it' section provides further practice where children use bonds of 9 to create bonds of 19 by completing number sentences, enhancing their understanding of how two numbers can be combined to reach a target sum.
