Number 10 - CanDo Bonds

The CanDo Bonds activity is a comprehensive and engaging educational tool designed to help children understand and memorise the number bonds to 10 through a variety of interactive tasks. The activity begins with a creative task where children are asked to colour bars to represent six different ways of making the number 10, such as 3 + 7 or 5 + 5. After completing the number sentences, they are encouraged to illustrate some of these bonds on number lines, making jumps to visually represent the addition, and writing down the corresponding number sentences to reinforce their learning.

Further exercises include adding two numbers on a character named Colin's antlers and colouring his nose if the sum equals 10, as well as connecting a path across a grid by colouring all the boxes that total 10.
