Women's History Activator: Rachel Carson

Event: September 1962. Rachel Carson's book, Silent Spring is published and word of how industrial chemicals harm nature begins to spread. Story: Rachel Carson is an author, scientist and environmentalist. Her books were praised as both scientifically accurate and accessible. Silent Spring was her 4th and final book and it's focus on the impact of humans on nature and eventually the creature of the Environmental Protection Agency.
