Show it! Group presentation - History of Bury - Year 3

At the culmination of their learning journey exploring the history of Bury, Year 3 students are provided with the exciting opportunity to showcase their newfound knowledge to their peers. This 'Show It!' segment of the curriculum is a chance for the children to take centre stage and articulate the reasons behind the existence of Bury. The presentations can be delivered in various formats, ensuring a dynamic and engaging learning experience for both presenters and audience. Staff members may also contribute by compiling a PowerPoint presentation that encapsulates the ongoing learning, which can then be shared with the entire class to facilitate a visual and interactive discussion.

Working collaboratively in small groups, with no more than six students per group, the children can delve into specific aspects of Bury's rich history. Each group might choose to focus on a different topic, such as the famous Bury market, the life and impact of Sir Robert Peel, the transformative period of the Industrial Revolution, the historical significance of Warth Mills, or the heritage of the East Lancashire Railway. Through these presentations, the students not only enhance their public speaking and research skills but also gain a deeper understanding of the historical fabric that has shaped the town of Bury over the years.
