Brightstorm - Session 13 - Word Workshop

The Brightstorm Session 13 Word Workshop is an engaging educational activity designed to enhance vocabulary skills among KS2 students. In this session, learners are encouraged to explore various words, their meanings, and usage in sentences. They are tasked with modifying words by adding prefixes or suffixes, changing the form to plural or singular, or altering verb tenses. Additionally, students are asked to identify synonyms and antonyms, thereby deepening their understanding of each word's context and its opposites.

Words such as 'revelation', 'curious', 'shrewd', 'ambitious', 'ruthless', 'accumulation', 'secrete', 'innocent', 'excessive', 'heritage', 'relentlessly', 'embracing', 'erased', 'disintegrating', 'enclosure', 'unpredictable', 'instinct', 'notoriously', 'bribe', 'dissuade', 'assurance', and 'contagious' are dissected within the workshop. For each term, pupils are prompted to consider its part of speech and to craft sentences that demonstrate comprehension.
