Grasslands are a large area of the earth that have lots of grass and very few trees. The grassland biome is found in South Africa, North America, Hungary, Argentina Uruguay, and Russia.
Temperate grasslands have hot summers and cold wintersTemperate grasslands can be further subdivided. Prairies are grasslands with tall grasses while steppes are grasslands with short grasses.
Steppes receive less rainfall than prairies and receive only 10 to 20 inches rainfall a year. dry areas of grassland with hot summers and cold winters.
