Elementary School English Teaching Resources Spellings Dictation 2nd Grade and 3rd Grade 2nd Grade and 4 English programme of study - Writing - transcription: Spelling - students should be taught to: write from memory simple sentences, dictated by the teacher, that include words and punctuation taught so far. This English teaching resource has been designed to cover the years 3 and 4 curriculum objective listed above. It enables teachers to evaluate spelling in the context of sentences using words taken from the Grades 3 and 4 list of statutory spellings. The resource includes: seven-page dictation worksheet booklet with a list of the Grades 3 and 4 statutory spellings, 87 dictation sentences - all of which contain the statutory spellings, 101 slide PowerPoint presentation to introduce the task and to assess pupils understanding. This unit of work contains enough dictation spellings to cover the whole academic year. Exercises are split into Autumn Term, Spring Term and Summer Term as can be seen in the PowerPoint.
