Lesson Objective:
Today I am going to learn how to calculate the area of a right-angled triangle by using knowledge of rectangle areas. I will explore the relationship between the two shapes and understand how to apply the formula for the area of a rectangle to find the area of a triangle.
I will know I have learned the knowledge by answering the following questions:

 <li>How can the area of a right-angled triangle be estimated using a squared grid?</li>
 <li>What is the relationship between the area of a right-angled triangle and the area of a corresponding rectangle?</li>
 <li>What steps must be taken to modify the formula for the area of a rectangle to calculate the area of a right-angled triangle?</li>
 <li>Can I apply the formula to calculate the area of various right-angled triangles with different lengths and heights?</li>
